The specimen is made up of aquamarine on a matrix of feldspar with schorl. The feldspar has formed a shallow valley into which the aquamarine crystal comes out of at an angle. The aquamarine measures 3.1cm with good lustre and colour ranging from opaque blue at the base to light blue and clear in the termination.
