Calcite on Hausmannite, N'Chwaning II Mine, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape, South Africa.

An attractive specimen here which is made up of two generations of calcite deposited onto a matrix with micro hausmannite. The first generation of calcite which is white at the core has been deposited over by clear and lustrous rhombic calcite crystals in a stepped pattern. There is a contact at the base of the specimen.
