Ettringite on Calcite on Brucite Cluster, Wessels Mine, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape, South Africa

Fabulous association of Ettringite on Brucite from the Wessels mine. The crystals of Ettringite here are mostly small with a couple of very nice gemmy larger crystals up to a few mm and brightly coloured and have been deposited on a thick layer of Calcite which is on a light blue Brucite matrix. The Brucite has formed a very nice botryoidal-type base for the matrix. These were found in 2003.
