Ettringite on Calcite, Wessels Mine, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape, South Africa

The specimen has two presentation faces. One face presents a parallel aligned stepped formation of modified rhombic crystals of translucent white lustrous calcite. The flattish reverse side has a deposit of small canary yellow prismatic crystals of ettringite. There is some abrasions on the calcite.
