Fluorite

Fluorite

Omehane, Otjinamewa, Dâures Constituency, Erongo Region, Namibia

Size: 2.6 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm (Thumbnail)

The specimen has violet coloured fluorite grown over green fluorite. The green fluorite was deposited first in the sequence. One sees a green cubic crystal yet next to the crystal there is a second cubic crystal overgrown with violet fluorite. The second generation of fluorite was also cubic crystals but much smaller. However there is a seperate formation attached which has a rounded ball formation of violet cubic crystals over a rounded ball formation of quartz crystals.
