The specimen is made up of a deposit of hematite on a host country rock matrix. The hemattie crystals cover the matrix all around with remnants of calcite on one side. At the top of the specimen there is a deposit of a couple hematite crystals which are much larger and they are prominent sitting on the top of the ridge of the matrix. The crystals measure to 2.3cm with a matte luster.
