The specimen has a radial acicular dome of pink manganoan calcite with a perfectly exposed  hollow underside finished in fine needle points. This could well be the primary display feature. The outside of the specimen has been grown over by a second generation of manganoan calcite crystal needles in an erratic growth pattern.
