Olmiite & Calcite

Olmiite & Calcite

N'Chwaning II Mine, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape, South Africa

Size: 2.3 x 3 x 2.3 cm (Thumbnail)

The specimen is a twinned crystal ball. Olmiite formed into a twinned aggregate ball formation of lustrous translucent brown crystals. The small specimen is impressive as the ball formation takes up most of the form. There is some minor white baryte with a few calcite crystals as well as tiny andradite.
