The specimen has a spinel law twin crystal of fluorite penetrated by elongated thin crystals of schorl. The fluorite material is colourless in combination with a diagnostic violet coloured zoning habit, where the colour lies just under the surface and along edge angles and corners. The violet colour refracts into the fluorite mass a little creating a lilac glow. The thin needle like crystals of schorl penetrating the fluorite are very pleasing.
