The specimen is spinel law twin crystals of fluorite which are intergrown with one another. The crystals have a violet colour in zones towards the outer surfaces more concentrated in the corners and along edges. The clear zones though have the appearance of being violet but this is a refraction. I bought these in 2007 on a trip to Namibia.
