Kolwesite on Goethite, Tenke Fungurume Mine, Kinshasa, DR Congo

Kolwesite on Goethite, Tenke Fungurume Mine, Kinshasa, DR Congo

This specimen consists of a botryoidal type matrix and under closer inspection visible to the naked eye one can see the typical Goethite sprays on the contact areas. There is a deposit of olive green-coloured Kolwesite balls which have a lovely chatoyancy to them. This is from finds from roughly the start of 2023 at the Tenke Fungurume Mine. Very good specimen overall with no major damage to note, there are some contacts around the peripheral where one can see the acicular form of the Goethite.

Size: 4.6 x 4 x 3.9cm

Locality: Tenke Fungurume Mine, Kinshasa, DR Congo.
