Malachte & Limonite In Baryte

Malachte & Limonite In Baryte

Shangulowé Mine, Kambove, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo

Size: 5.2 x 3.4 x 1.7 cm (Small Cabinet)

The specimen has a flat thin base knitted together by the roots of baryte crystals making up the formation. The formation has numerous tabular crystals of baryte crowded together with the crystals protruding upwards. The baryte has an extended tabular habit with a triangle shaped termination which create the impression of a tombstone. There is also limonitic sediment clay present as inclusions with pale malachite phantoms.
