A thin plate of hematite ore supports an impressive outcrop of celestine with calcite. The flat surface of the matrix supports small white crystals of calcite which are exposed around the fringe. From this point there are the subtly radial splaying formations of blocky orthorhombic celestine crystals. One of the sprays a larger celestine crystal to 1cm x 0.9cm is creating a point of emphasis. The celestine is pale blue colour and it is translucent with a high lustre.
